Methodist Church of Murrysville is showing the new movie called
“The Wager” starring country singer
and actor Randy Travis. Based on the best selling book by Bill Myers, “”The
Wager” is a powerful parable examining the Sermon on
the Mount and how to live it in today’s world, challenging people to see that
faith is found when it’s tested. Admission is free and the movie will be shown
on Friday, April 25th at 6:30 p.m. (This is family night with pizza
and popcorn, and activities for children under 13). Saturday, April 26 at 7:30
p.m. and Sunday, May 4th at 4:00 p.m. There are tickets available
on Jeanne’s desk in the church office.

Secure the Call Foundation -
A coalition of Law Enforcement Agencies and Non-Profits is
collecting and redistributing used cell phones to any community member who
needs a 911 phone in the event of an emergency. Secure the Call Foundation
inspects, cleans, charges their batteries, and then reprograms them to be used
as free 911 emergency calls without a carrier service plan. They are
distributed to domestic violence shelters, senior centers, neighborhood watch
groups, school crossing guards and other agencies with an immediate need for
911 access. Please leave your old phones in the church office where they will
be collected and mailed prepaid to the foundation.

National Association of Letter Carriers will be collecting
non-perishable food items on Saturday, May 10th for distribution to
the LOCAL food bank. Please place food by your mailbox before your mail is
delivered.
Loaves and Fishes- It is time again to collect items for Loaves &
Fishes. This is an emergency food pantry that provides food and hygiene items
to families in need. The pantry is supervised by Newlonsburg Presbyterian
Church. St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and Calvary Lutheran Church are
co-collecting the following items: tuna, canned fruit, fruit drinks, tissues
and paper towels. We will be collecting these items until May 4th;

dinners for the group. We are also looking into “host families” to put these
college students up for two nights.

you avoid milk products? Have you been on steroid or hormone
replacement therapy? Is there a lack of weight bearing exercise in your daily
routine? If yes, you may want to consider being screened for osteoporosis
risk. The FDA has now approved osteoporosis screening for men! More than half
of the 1.5 million people Life Line Screening serves are at moderate or high
risk for bone loss. Calvary Lutheran
Church and School is hosting a screening on Friday, May 9th.
